After 2 weeks of trying it out, I can honestly say that Shakeology is awesome stuff! I was a bit hesitant to try it, especially at $4 a shake. But figured Amy and I would split a bag and give it a whirl. The chocolate taste is actually pretty good, I did not care much for greenberry. Amy seems to be enjoying both flavors. I know that Beachbody has crammed a ton of good stuff in this shake. That's reason enough for me to drink it. But, the big benefit for me has been better sleep. I've always required 9+ hours of sleep just to keep from being a zombie. Typically, I went to bed around 11, up around 9. And even then, 9am was mainly due to Amy smacking me in the head telling me to get my lazy butt up. Anyway, after a couple days, I started waking up on my own… around 7:45-8am! And, I was staying up closer to midnight. Nothing has ever helped my sleep issues. Not supplements, not getting into shape, not eating a healthy diet, nothing. There is something in Shakeology that has done it. I'm not a doctor. I don't know what that magic ingredient is. To be honest, I don't much care! As long as Shakeology does the trick, I'm a customer for life.
It couldn't have come at a better time, either. With my current back/rib injury, I had to cut back from P90X to elliptical training. So, I've cut back my diet to reduce calories. What better way to do it than with a meal replacement shake. I'm sure I'll work this in to my P90X diet once I'm back to it. It's too good not to!
Now Amy and I are sharing our bags of Shakeology with friends and family. Encouraging them to try it for themselves. I'm curious to find out if it helps others as much as it did for me. If someone out there is interested and I haven't offered it to you yet, let me know. I'll hook you up!
I've noticed that the big stopper for most people is the price. Throughout my personal fitness adventure, that's one thing I've never concerned myself with. My philosophy is, if it works, it's worth whatever I paid. And if not, at least I know. At four bucks a shake, this stuff isn't cheap. But, if you're using it as a meal replacement, is it really that bad? I mean, how much is a meal at Burger King these days? $6 or $7? Heck, even if you just compare it to a drink... How much is a coffee at Starbucks or Caribou? $4? And I guarantee those won't make you feel as good. Actually after a meal at BK or a coffee from Caribou, I usually feel worse! ;-)
I can't say enough good things about this stuff. Give it a try, it's got my stamp of approval! What have you got to lose? It has a money back GUARANTEE!
